Is it because we, others, have in fact way more manners and don't b1tch away as much on you as you do on us?!
I wonder I wonder ... hum ... now there's a great mystery to solve ...
Because most of the time we cant be arsed to speak the local lingo and if the local does'nt understand then turn up the volume in English to see if they get the point.

If you look at the title of this thread and compare it to the thread on "swiss looks" you see that there is a small but important difference:
"What makes you look swiss?" asks everyone what they consider to be typically swiss "style", whereas "What makes us look English?" is only directed at people of English origin, asking them how they would like to be seen in terms of stereotypes...

I was wondering if the OP meant british also instead of english....
Quite simply, it is hard to define an English look because we are a mongrel and thereby impure race... very well cultured and mannered, but mongrel nontheless.
I must admit , I was in London a few weeks ago for the first time in 10 years and god are the women pretty( much prettier then here I must say, besides my gf of course haha) other than that it is the clear distinct that people do not give a crap about what they look like (this is for some of the extreem dressers)
Otherwise I find you can tell a brit like you can tell an American. There is just something about you guys that makes you different (maybe the jollyness?)
I was in Barcelona last weekend for Primavera Festival. Curiously enough, I was telling my festival partner that I was 10/10 on picking out Brits. Pasty, poorly dressed, and just downright nerdy.
