Removing back hair (Bachelor Party)

Ok,

this is most certainly off-topic.

We are arranging a bachelor party (the usual 3 day excercise) for a friend of mine. The bride had only one request for us organisers: "Please get rid of his backhair!".

Any of you ladies or men alike have ideas how to do this? There ought to be some hideous cosmetic products available for this ritual.

Being Finnish and all, there are some limitations: it has to be safe to use even in a heavily intoxicated state. (Otherwise I would recommended a lawn mover.)

A reasonable amount of pain is acceptable.

Thanks for your input in advance!

Re: Removing back hair (Bachelor Party)

Simple. Waxing. You could take him to a Spa, or pick up some wax yourself from an apotheke or something and do it yourself. And yes, waxing is not pleasant.

Re: Removing back hair (Bachelor Party)

Just buy one of those metal shavers with real razor blades and use soap - been doing it for years - it comes off very easily. It is a bit itchy for a couple of days

Re: Removing back hair (Bachelor Party)

The simplest way, and also quite safe and painless, is to use the electric hair trimmer that you would use to give a crew cut / buzz cut. It doesn't give a perfectly smooth finish, but I'm sure the lady would be so amazed by the improvement that she wouldn't notice the imperfectness. Note: trimmers appear to be about half the price in the UK as they are in Switzerland!

Haha, superb thread.

Instead of removing the hair, why don't you just dye it ginger for comedic effect.

Or shave in the name of another girl

Get him waxed. It doesn't hurt - actually I find it quite therapeutic. Trimmers and shaving are for wimps.

Chest waxing, on the other hand, is only for the dedicated...

Yeah, and it'll grow back like a fluffy "back-beard" - ugh.

It'll grow back no matter what you do (except for maybe some laser treatment), and the simpler and more painless it is, then the more likely it is that he'll do it again.

Nicky has a good point. If you're doing the back, you might as well crack on

Now this is what I call creativity and thinking out of the box!

The fellow we are talking about is a bear-like character. What if I get neon-greenish hair dye and we turn him to "the Incredible Hulk"?

EDIT: The hair dye is more or less permanent - right? If we do the Hulk, then they have to figure out how to remove the hair for real when we return him home. Maybe we'll book a wax for him for the next monday then.

The other ideas are also superb, thanks!

Re: Removing back hair (Bachelor Party)

Whatever happens, given that you'll all be under the influence, do not get involved with scissors, razors and shavers because:
a) at least one of you - and possibly all of you! - will get badly injured
b) at least one of you - more than likely all of you - will end up minus eyebrows or patches of hair.
c) you'll have trouble getting into nightclubs.

The groom would NOT thank you if he turned up for his wedding minus eyebrows and with holes missing from his hair. Blimey, I must be getting old, that actually sounded like sensible advice (although obviously 'c' is the clincher).

I suggest you go down the wax strip road, however after the back is done, "crack on" as was mentioned before, and I strongly suggest sending him back to his beloved without a single hair on his body at all.

If nothing else, he'll look positively aerodynamic in his wedding photographs.

Make sure you also do "other" areas of hair so that his missus gets the full hulk experience on their wedding night

It is amazing where a simple request like: "Please remove his back hair" can get you... "You turned my man into Hulk!"

Re: Removing back hair (Bachelor Party)

I would suggest you remove his hair in stages and take pics along the way. Maybe first shave his arms and a v-neck patch in front to mimic a sweater-vest. Then carve a number on his back like a football jersey. Maybe stripes? The possibilities are endless.

Well, duh! If it's just a one off and nobody cares about doing it properly, then using a trimmer is of course fine. To achieve a smooth finish and to defer regrowth for a few weeks then waxing is the only way. Anyway, this is academic since it looks like he's getting dyed green.

Re: Removing back hair (Bachelor Party)

I personally would ask a beautician to come around and do it rather than having 10 intoxicated mates fiddling around with hot wax and razors... and yes, go for waxing, the bride will love it
