Re: Camera advice pls- Canon 7D

Glad you're enjoying the Canon! :-)

Here's my own shameless plug for the Lumix GH1 (hacked):
http://www.vimeo.com/13427305

All done with the "pancake" 20mm F1.7 lens.
Shot some other stuff this morning using the 7-14 wideangle + my old 85 f2.0 glass... shweet! (will post if and when I manage to find the time to edit, etc).

If anyone wants to go the HDSLR route for film + stills, the Lumix GH1 is a lot cheaper than the hi-end Canon stuff, and some very nice 35mm lenses can be adapted rather inexpensively by menas of ad-hoc adapters (e.g Novoflex, etc).

Check out some amazing footage (not mine) on Vimeo, at this link:

Ciao

Paul

Re: Camera advice pls- Canon 7D

hi all,

I'm potentially looking at this camera as well.

My basic need is not so much photography, but actual video.. by this I mean .. I would like to film my young one playing football. I will be about 30-40mtrs away from the action, and we all know football is not exactly a summer sport.

Can someone please give me some hints/ experiences with the Canon 7D , when it comes to hd video.

Cheers

Re: Camera advice pls- Canon 7D

If HD video is your main purpose, is there any reason that you're going for the 7D over the 60D, which is less expensive, also records 1080p HD and has a flip-out screen? The 7D has some big advantages for still images, but I don't think it would have much if any edge for video...
