The Etsy (and other handmade stuff websites) Shopping Addicts Thread

I realise there are a few Etsy (and similar) threads but I thought maybe we could have one where people share their favourite Etsy (or other craft website of choice) sellers, help others find a particular item they are looking for because they have seen the exact thing while browsing or introduce some people who don't know Etsy or any other sites selling handmade items. I mainly use and know Etsy, so that's what I generally refer to, but there is also DaWanda in Germany and others.

One thing I love about this concept is that you can also ask for an item to be made; in Etsy this is called Alchemy, so you put up a query that says something like "I want cinnamon and orange scented soap that does NOT contain vanilla or mineral oil" or "I want a red t-shirt with a black and white cartoon of my cat Biggles on it". The sellers then can reply to your query, they tell you how much they would charge for it and you then enter into an agreement, whereby they make the item for you at that price.

The sheer amount of stuff to be had is amazing, there is really something for everyone, which is why I'd love to hear what YOUR favourite finds or sellers in the handmade universe are.

And since the reason I wanted to do this thread is that I didn't want to carry on Off Topic in the GGL handbag thread, here are some of my favourite handbag sellers on Etsy:
christy studio
morelle sadly the seller is relocating to Australia and closing down her shop , so it's last chance to buy one of these quirky, pretty bags.
The Leather Store
Valhalla Brooklyn
Jacob's Eye
Studio One Design

Any good sellers from Switzerland you've found? Starting to keep an eye out for Christmas gifts, maybe something from local designers.

I can definitely recommend Bubu Crafts, I think she's just started and her stuff is really fun and lovely. She also has a special Xmas category

i thought i'd revitalize this thread for some efers who are selling stuff. i just revised my store- after all the time in switzerland i've let it go and finally got it up again, and i know there are lot's of others here who are selling on etsy as well- so this seemed a good thread to put out there for the holiday season

my little shop, slowly being pieced back together

Re: The Etsy (and other handmade stuff websites) Shopping Addicts Thread

Hello,

I am new to this thread! I am wanting to purchase some jewellery making supplies from an Etsy seller based in Turkey, and am trying to figure out the customs and duties Iíll pay. I have the option of choosing to ship it to France should this prove cheaper. Iv tried TARES but it confuses me

Any Etsy shoppers out there have some info around this that they could share?

Thanks so much!
