Without knowing WHERE in Poland you were, what the city / town was like, it is very hard to say which is better.
Without being YOU, it is hard to say which would be more interesting FOR you.
Meanwhile, for me personally, one week is hardly enough time to get to know what is going on and what there is to do... so bored for a week really is a bit of a "so what" for me. Give it a chance... more like a couple of months so that you have time to meet others and see what is there.
What do you like to do? There are other forum members in Lugano, if you have a specific interest, make an event on the Social Events calendar for your area and see if there may be others who'd like to join you for whatever it is.

Sounds like you made a big mistake. I'd seek a transfer to London or Berlin as quickly as possible.
You say there's "nothing to do". What would you like to do that isn't available?

Yes probably best to leave so that some who is lucky enough and appreciates the opportunity to be here can take the place instead.

I have to admit that I do not know a whole lot about the other areas of Switzerland and I know even less about Poland.
What I do know a little something about is "university towns" and that is that the university "drives" the excitement - other than student doings, unless it is a uni in a large city, the town tends to be otherwise quite sleepy.
The thing about this situation is that often, the first week (or three) that someone arrives to such a town as a student, their life is fairly well consumed with getting settled into their new dorm / apartment / house as well as getting settled with their classes. The first couple weeks therefore tends to be relatively quiet - except among "upper classmen" (which is to say the students further along in their studies, perhaps on their 2nd or 3rd year there).
Then, once one knows how their classes actually suit and potential shifts are done, things start picking up. Whether it be study group or party crowd, it takes a little settling in and getting to know one another before connections are made.
So... give it another week or two. Talk to your classmates. Talk to your neighbors and get settled. Once you get to know people you'll have a better idea what - if anything - is going on.
Even Daytona Beach (with two universities and a junior college), which is "famous" for Spring Break craziness has it's "sleepy" times. Plus, I get the idea that that area of Switzerland tends to be it's own version of Florida. |

Why should WE tell you what's good about this country if you're simply going to reply with stuff like "i really do not care about nature". How did you get here - boot of a car, legs and arms tied, blindfolded?

And Las Vegas 'fun' is probably even harder on the purse than Switzerland. I'll stick to 'nature'. It's a long cheaper.
Hope things improve for you soon though. As others have said, it takes a while to get settled in and find out what is going on.

Only you can know what is suitable for you and what is not. I have lived once before in Switzerland and found it to be completely stressful and boring the first time. The second time I have quickly grown to love it and appreciate that I am one of the lucky ones who can live here without having to worry about permits and such. This could be an age thing as well. Switzerland probably appeals to older folk like myself who are seeking a bit of a quieter lifestyle.
There are many thousands and millions who would love the opportunity to live in this country and study here, but will never get the chance. My only advice is to give it a chance, see between what is causing you angst and take the experience as a positive because when the time comes to leave, you may look back, think it was not so bad, and then have a desire to be back. Life is what you make of it, in the now. I wish you luck with it and hope it improves for you soon.

I studied/ lived in Wroclaw for 8 years . It's a wonderful place but you cannot compare it to Lugano. Everything is different between these two.
I would say stick here for some time and try make the best out of it. Some of the above posters told you to switch to Zürich and I think it's a good idea.
Good luck! |

plus weather in Zürich really sucks.
