| | Geneva : if you want to test contact lenses
Just saw in the Genève Home Information that Kress-optic in Rue Chantepoulet 1, offers a week of free Contact Lenses to try.
you go there with or without a rendez-vous, they take the measures and put lenses in the right place ( )
After that, you go home with all the necessary lenses for a week and all the instructions. (it's Focus Dailies lenses)
(I don't know if they speak English) Only from 4 to 9 October 2010.
Going to try it |

Wow that is funny.
Last night I dreamed that I needed to go to a public toilette and it was full of contact lenses so I couldn't use it.
Maybe it is a sign that I should go to Geneva over the weekend?

That's a bit odd that the location you mention is limiting their offer for a week trial to a week as the (most, if not all) contact lens manufacturers actually support optical care provers with the means to *always* offer one-week trials for contact lenses.
Certainly the folks with Focus Dailies have a one-week trial available, always.
I suppose it comes down to how much the optical shop in question wishes to bother with that part of their potential business.

Personally, knowing that contact lens manufacturers (particularly those making disposable contact lenses) encourage eyecare professionals to offer one-week trials (they provide starter kits as well as the trial lenses themselves), I'd be hesitant to go to the place you mentioned as a new patient / client because of them limiting the offer to a specific period. IF I was already a patient / client of theirs, I would be happy that they are offering something that is perhaps new to them. Otherwise, I'd stick to my regular folks.

My actual glasses come from there | Quote: | | | | | Not useless, just perhaps useful in a different way than you'd intended. | | | | | yeah, you're right.
I didn't know it was an usual practice.....
Now I'll definitely try lenses, even if I love my glasses, but they are just too annoying when you do astronomy or use binoculars..... |

I'm on my phone and searching is difficult, so sorry if this post is in the wrong place.
I wear contacts and just received delivery of some at half the price I'd pay in Switzerland, and the bill was small enough that I paid no customs duty. The company is www.feelgoodcontacts.com. It's UK-based and the delivery is free. For strong corrections, it may take a little longer, but that's the case everywhere.
For health reasons of course only those who see the eye doctor regularly and know their prescription and eye measurements should use these services!
