man pain

Oh man-pain, terrrrible man-pain.
Last trip to the UK got me some real Lancashire fish batter, just add water.
Tonight seemed a good day for a fish ´n chip Slammersupper.
Got a nice bit of cod from Aldi some soft-cooking spuds and fresh oil for the deep fry.
Have salt and Sarsons malt vinegar, so this could just work.
A little problem was opening the oil bottles. Plastic thingys with the plastic strip of death kind of fastener, Satan´s own ring.
Slammer did the dumb thing and tired to flick it off with a knife, one of these little very pointy-two-inch--blade veggie knifes.
Slammer then went then waepon´s grade stupid and applied the pressure, slipped and..
Well that damn bugger is damn sharp and went straight through damn forefinger damn fast.
Waddya know blood really is dark red.

Just found the real way to open them bottles, damn!

Re: man pain

Sorry, I really shouldn't laugh. How badly cut is the finger really? Does it have to be sewn?

Having done similarly bright things myself I have a great deal of sympathy with you.

But I'm still laughing up my sleeve...

Re: man pain

Nah, just a quarter roll of toilet paper and some super glue, no need to go to the bloodbank for a refill and stitches.

Awa! Them things are evil, once got my hand in a industrial sausage slicer, the automatic self moving ones with the fish-hook prongs. Said forefinger was in three slices from fingernail to thumb before I could scream.
Anyway here is the Slammersupper..

Oh this was just soo burp
Full now, need beer.
Oh did I mention I had fried mushrooms too?

man pain

Ow ow ow!!! I feel your "man-pain". I like to assume my hands are made from plastic and asbestos.. I have many scars but as with you, each one has a story of some yummy creation behind it

Stay away from tomatoes and lemons! Wishing your finger a speedy recovery.

I'm not sure I understand this as "man-pain" or perhaps the "man-pain" referred to the loss of the use of your "man-hand" ? you know, to do "man stuff" like fixing the faucet, changing the tyre etc etc...

Is that blood, oder...?

It looks awesome though. And any good cook knows that these type injuries are par for the course a few times in your life. Thus, I have no sympathy for you... but did cringe a bit when reading your story.

Re: man pain

I think today was the day for kitchen accidents or something.

I did something I've never done before... I sliced into the tip of my finger when trying to scoop the rest of the beans from a freshly opened can. Yep, you imagine that right, I sliced my finger on the edge of the can lid.

I hope you didn't hurt yourself too badly! Hopefully someone can (or did) kiss it and make it feel better.
