Ok I'm sorry & take it back....what on Earth possessed him then to turn on his own & torture us day & night with that terrible noise?
I love his music and I couldn't care less what people think.
Many of the lyrics are beautiful, like "Cry"

It's just a question of taste (bad perhaps in your opinion, but I like him)

Well, he doesn't make it onto Amazons music for people who don't like music... :-) I was hoping he'd make it there

I agree his music is sentimental with beautiful lyrics and I even brought with me CD "All the lost souls" and l used to listen to it whenever I felt down. My bh bought it for me few weeks just before I left SA for good in Dec 2007. It has some emotional meaning as well.

I think the problem here is that his songs played almost everywhere become overwhelming and eventually too match to take by some when listening to the same artist over and over again

I was perturbed by the lack of U2 there as well.

Agreed. I'd rather listen to Blunty 24 hours a day than have to suffer U2 for an hour. Bloody hell is Bono ever up his own bottom.

Be grateful you weren't in his tank.

Aw c'mon, ya'll are pretty harsh. He has a beautiful voice, the lyrics touch something inside. I wouldn't say I'd BUY his music but then, I don't buy much and tend to stick to "old favorites" in between hearing someone new that really strikes a chord in me.

I think some of you have never heard really *bad* singers that actually think they're good... be happy you weren't at my brother's first wedding. One of the bride's relatives was granted the honor of singing before and after the ceremony (in the church) and ooooh man, that was bad.

No one has to buy his music at the moment, it is all over swiss radio & on the telly. Ruining my Christmas.

Re: I will walk out if I hear James Blunt's music in a bar

Maybe blunt to some of you, but frankly, if you want only music you like in a bar, open your own pub.

I haven't heard music I liked in a bar EVER. I have obviously very exclusive taste or just no taste at all. But it is mainly because bars are not made for music in the first place, so that music I like does not do well if you can't listen to the beauty of the poetery. Back to topic: Blunt is not poetry either.

But do I complain? NO. I drink...

... tea.

Amen to that. Most overrated band. Ever.

You do know he was a Captain in the Life Guards and was the first man into Kosovo, he was the guy in his tank directing allied air attacks, far in advance of any other allied troops.
He also stood guard over the Queen Mum's coffin and although I am not that fond of his music I do not think he is a c**t. and is more than welcome to take my sister (if I had one) out on a date.
That's all very nice, but his singing still induces a certain degree of nausea.

Why? Because for the life of me I won't understand why his music is worthy of being played even the toilets in media markt let alone anywhere else , total garbage!

For proper sad people who might also confess here of the sh!t they might be tempted to listen to...apart from his of course.

What's wrong with James Blunt? Personally I think he is ok, I prefer James Morrison's voice but he is not dramatically overrated. As you might guess my favourite is the faboulous Tony Hadley: powerful flexible unique voice totally undervalued.

This song may be slightly more bearable if the words were as they are in this version
