| | What is the favourite thing that you own?
If you had to chose one thing . . one thing that you own to say that above all else (I don`t mean family or pets . . . okay, okay dog lovers, I know pets ARE family) you value it most . . . what would it be?
For me it would be this . . my Tivoli Model one radio . . a beautiful piece of technology that looks just great and the sound it produces . . well it punches way, way above it`s weight.
It lives in the kitchen and as kitchens are the most sociable room in the house, in my humble opinion, we will sit for hours talking and listening to the rich sound from the radio. . . brilliant.

I don't have a favourite thing. I own some very useful stuff, of course, but if it were all to vanish overnight and it was covered by insurance, I'd just buy new stuff.
I'm not very sentimental
Oh, actually, there is something : All my photos.

My favourite thing is my "Teddy Grump" - he's been with me all my life, goes to bed with me, and like Tony Curtis and his i phone, is coming with me on the next journey.............

Agreed (and I am Swiss lol) - but also my DBA Opticron binoculars that go everywhere with me - the only expensive gadget I've ever bought (unlike my gadget mad OH).

Actually I think my favourite thing is my car.
It's not a special car. It's not especially fast or beautiful, but I only got my driving license 2 years ago (at the grand old age of 37) and I can truly say that having my own car to take me places whenever and wherever I want has completely changed my life. Yes, even in Switzerland where the public transport is so great....!
So yes, my car.
[It's a White Honda Jazz by the way so quite unremarkable, but much loved by me!]

I don't have anything special that's my favourite, but I quite fancy a coffee machine that makes your coffee after your alarm goes off.
I heard about a Teasmade while living in the UK - genius!
If only it could chill milk and warm it up when my daughter starts waking up.

I like my paintings (not ones that I painted, ones that I own). They are the only things I own which were chosen for their beauty alone and they are the only things that will come with me when I leave.

Mine is my engagement ring since my husband designed it by himself so it is extra special to me. That or my teddy Tfor, that I got for my 1st Christmas.

"Blanket" - not A blanket, but Blanket, like a name. It's a blanket that is older than me that a friend of my mum's gave to her when I was born. It's white and soft and I still have it in my bed to this day (except when there is a visitor), it travelled across the world with me and I would save it if there was a fire, together with a box of photographs and the larger of my external hard drives...

That has got to be my Yamaha U1.
I look forward to my time with it everyday, takes me to another place, another time and it has been the best reliable friend in the darkest and loneliest of my expat life here in Switzerland. Absolutely god-send.
