Temporary accommodation (3 nights)

We're leaving Switzerland soon and we'll need 3 nights of temporary accommodation (from when the removalists come to when we fly out). Anyone have any suggestions for a family of 4? Would prefer near Thalwil/Horgen area. I know we can look at hotel rooms, but for 4 we usually need 2 rooms and it gets expensive. Plus I'd prefer a small apartment so we can cook our own meals.

Any suggestions much appreciated.

I have this link. I make no guarantees about it - I kept from some other thread in case relatives decide to visit me once I am in Zürich.

Re: Temporary accommodation (3 nights)

I would prefer something closer to Thalwil, but will check this out. Don't seem to be many options out there!

Thanks.

hi, Just a question, do you have to move out of the apartment the same day as the removal people leave? If not maybe you could borrow some mattresses or inflatable beds and some bedding from friends, and stay were you are until you fly out. Or stay with friends etc.

Re: Temporary accommodation (3 nights)

We thought about "camping" in our house. But we have the cleaners coming through after the removalists have gone. (And then we'd also need to borrow cooking implements, linen, etc.)

And we do have friends we could bunk in with, but their place is small and we'd feel like we're imposing. All the kids are still at school until the 23rd so it would be manic in the mornings trying to get 4 adults and 4 kids ready.

What do other people with kids do?

When we moved back here, we left the children each staying with a schoolfriend to finish off their school term. We came over first and collected the children from the airport when they flew over a few days later.

Wish that we could. Our kids are 4 and 7 - a bit young to be flying on their own! And to Australia is a long long flight with at least one stopover.
