Storage and moving... what to do?

I am moving apartment for the first time in Switzerland. If I get my new apartment on 1 October and whoever gets my current apartment will do so on 1 October. Since cleaners have to come in a clean, I have to move out, hand-over has to take place etc, the logistics are going to be tricky.

My main concern is storage. There is a thread about this and it contains some handy links, but the storage facilities here seem to be for a month.

Does anyone know of temporary storage for shorter periods of time than a month?
How did those people who moved manage to get it all done seamlessly?

Re: Storage and moving... what to do?

can you get the handover of the new place done "early"?

I was lucky last time I moved as the destination apartment was empty. This was when empty apartments were not uncommon in Zurich, mind you

This possibility was mentioned. I hope it comes off this way. I need to have a plan though.
