Of course they are not _all_ true. But here's a true story (tm) from the 90es as relayed by my wife:

Car stops at traffic lights (Mt. Pleasant, I think) and won't start. Without hesitation, a random guy and a Working Girl (high heel and all) help pushing it across after which the girls asks the guy: "Want any business?"

I lived there a couple of years (95-97), tough place but a great one to be a foreigner. Much more fun than Chester.

Those were the days...
