digs near Basel

Hi all, just starting to sober up after new year.
New year, new life, I have started work near Basel and will be commuting home to god´s own belly-button (St. Gallen) for the weekends.
However I am looking for temporary digs during the week, sort of round Basel-ish. The buget allows for a cardbord box under a bridge but it would be nice to get a pension/monteurzimmer kind of thing.
I have my tenticles out but if any forumer knows anything, twould be nice to know.

Hi Slammer,

This might help:

http://markt.unibas.ch/nc/inserate/k...wg-zi-angebot/

As far as I am aware you don't have to be a student to live in most of the apartments. I had a few friends use this site when they were in a similar position to you.

Re: digs near Basel

Thanks for the tip, I found one room (zur Untermiete) digs in the Groß-Basler Altstadt for 300 Chuff`s as month, have to share a shower and loo with another Untermieter but for now methinks it could work.
Landlord is a retired Doc with his wife who seems to be a few fuses short of a circuit...
...maybe the other dropped shoe..
We will see

After being buried in Berneck for the last five years it will be nice and exiting to be in the "big city"! Slammer`s Weizenbier index was off the chart though, 10 Chuff`s compared to Berneck`s 6.50, by the power of greyskull!

Gonna bring the Töff and do me a bit of exploring

Oh Heck, somewhere Altstadt with a lot of art decor ambient and sorry no idea of the name but I will not be going there in a hurry.

Brrrrrr 20 Chuff`s for two.

But when you think that your accommodation only costs a beer a day, it sounds OK again

Anyway, welcome to Basel and good luck on the quest for well-priced Weizen!
