Apartment cleaning packages

Hi folks, I have some questions about hiring cleaners to clean my apartment in preparation of my moving out, I was hoping someone could help shed some light on this.

I'm moving out of my apartment and the Verwaltung recommended a cleaner who made me an initial offer of CHF1256 pauschal. This works out to be about CHF75/hr, and they confirmed that this rate is about right and they estimated the effort to be about 17-20 hours.

I spoke with the Verwaltung and they said I can request for a "regular customer" price of CHF58/hr. I made the request to the cleaning company and they came back with a revised offer - CHF58/hr up to a maximum of CHF1256.

I'm not familiar with such apartment cleaning packages, but it seems in the revised offer, the cleaners can still charge me the initial price of CHF1256 anyway. Could one just trust the cleaners to do their best in the shortest possible time? should one?

Info/suggestions appreciated!

it must be an obsessive compulsion of mine, to update my own lonely threads

anyway, i used http://www.reinigungsoffertenschweiz.ch/ to let the cleaning agents to come to me themselves, and i received a bunch of offers. To benchmark, here're details to my apartment:
  • Adresse der Wohnung = Mellingerstr., Baden
  • Grösse der Wohnung = 3,5 Zimmerwohnung (90qm)
  • In welchem Stockwerk ist die Wohnung? = 2. Stock
  • Hat es Lamellenstoren, Rolläden oder Fensterläden? = Lamellenstoren
  • Sind die Fenster verschraubt (Reinigung auch zwischen den
  • Gläsern) oder sind es isolierverglaste Fenster (Reinigung nur aussen und innen)? = isolierteverglaste Fenster
  • Hat es Heizkörper (Radiatoren)? Und sind das flache oder mit Röhren? = Bodenheizung
  • Müssen Teppiche schamponiert werden? Wenn ja, in wie vielen Zimmern (inkl. Korridore) ist Spannteppich verlegt? = 0
  • Hat es ausser dem Bad noch ein 2. Bad oder eine separate Dusche mit WC oder ein sep. WC? = Nein
  • Hat es einen Balkon oder eine Terrasse? = Wintergarten. Wenn ja, wie gross (m2) ist der Balkon oder die Terrasse? = 12qm
  • Ist der Balkon oder die Terrasse verglast? = Wintergarten?
  • Wenn ja, wie gross ist die Fläche der Glaswände = 12qm
  • Und wie gross ist die Fläche eines (eventuell vorhandenen) Glasdaches = 0
  • Wie viele Wand-Bohrlöcher (von Bildern) müssen verschlossen werden? = 0 (wird von der Verwaltung gestrichen)
  • Muss eine Waschmaschine oder ein Tumbler (oder beides) gereinigt werden? = Nein
  • Muss ein Kellerraum gereinigt werden? = Nein Hat dieser Raum Fenster? = Nein
  • Muss ein Estrichraum gereinigt werden? = Nein Wenn ja, hat dieser Raum Fenster? = Nein
  • Muss ein Garagenplatz im Parkhaus, ein Parkplatz oder eine eigene Garage gereinigt werden? = Nein
  • Abgabe-Termin? = Zu vereinbaren.
  • Sonstiges - Küche musst bereinigt werden, aber Ofen-Herd musst nicht gereinigt werden, da ein neues eingerichtet wird.
In the end, I decided on http://www.sulzer-reinigungsservice.ch/. It's a small family business which managed to keep costs down due to their size. They quoted me CHF750 (with handover guarantee), which was 20% lower than the next best offer. Frau Sulzer was friendly and professional and was on hand during the handover, which went well and without a hitch. I am happy to recommend them

here's a very rough english translation to the questionnaire above (i used Babelfish Gimme a break, no one's gonna read this anyway!)
  • Address = Mellingerstr., Baden
  • Size = 3.5 room (90sqm)
  • In which floor is the apartment? = 2nd
  • Does it have folding blinds, rolling blinds or shutter windows? = folding blinds
  • Are the windows bolted (cleaning also between glass panes) or are it isolated windows (cleaning only outside and inside)? = isolated windows
  • Does it have heaters (radiators)? are they flat or with tubes? = cabin ground heating system
  • Do carpets have to be chemically cleaned? If so, how many rooms (inclusive corridors)? = 0
  • Does it have a 2nd bathroom, separate shower with WC, or separate WC? = no
  • Does it have a balcony or a terrace? = winter garden. If so, how large? = 12qm
  • Does the balcony or the terrace have glass? = winter garden
  • If so, what is the surface of the Glass = 12sqm
  • What is the surface (where applicable) of the glass roof = 0
  • How do many wall bored-holes (eg for pictures) have to be filled? = 0 (will be painted over by the administration)
  • Does the washing machine or a Tumbler (or both) have to be cleaned? = no
  • Does a cellar area have to be cleaned? = no this area has windows? = no
  • Does the attic have to be cleaned? = no if, this area has windows? = no
  • Does a garage place in the multi-storey car park, parking lot or its own garage have to be cleaned? = no
  • Handover appointment? To be determined
  • other - kitchen must be cleaned, but stove does not have to be cleaned, as a new one would be installed by the agent.

I just used the same link and got some offers.

Has anyone ever use Red Rose cleaners? Any good stories, bad stories?

They were the first to respond with the median price (750) so I'm tempted to go with them. The first to respond for 750 didn't clearly include a guarantee, so I'm ruling them out, someone else responded with 650, but was doing all kinds of advertising in their response for other services so I'm not comfortable with. Someone else called me at 19:00 and would do it for 825, because he called me I'm not a big fan (although somewhat confused during the conversation I did agree to have him send me a contract / offer, which I guess means I'll have to formally tell him no)
We actually don't keep track of that record... You need to call the European fecal standards and measuremments office in Zürich, their number is listed on thier website
