How much was a property sold for?

Any way I can find out? I'm thinking of buying an apartment, but don't know what similar apartments have sold for on that street (there are no ads).

Thanks!

Re: How much was a property sold for?

If you go to www.comparis.ch they do an overview of old adverts which may help you, or follow the link.
http://en.comparis.ch/immobilien/mar...story_type=all& and add your address.

Thank you! VERRRRRRRRY HELPFUL. Went there and found out about the greedy ambitious sellers (well can't blame them). I wish I could pass on some of the averted losses (i.e. kept money) to you.

Yo uneed to be sure you compare like for like, an appartment on a top floor may giver view of lake for instance which in turn commandes a far higher price than one which offers view on parking lot.

State of repair

Level of equipment, ie Miele kitchen vs Ikea kitchen

Re: How much was a property sold for?

And do be aware of how the property market has changed recently. I plugged in my address, just for laughs... the only properties sold that Comparis came up with were from 2006. The market is quite different now.

(Come to think of it, two homes in the neighborhood that have sold in the last year, and one currently for sale, were not referenced on the Comparis site. Too bad, as these would paint a very different picture.)

In the end, though, a property is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it...

Comparis only shows asking prices where a property was sold (and advertised through a Comparis/partner website) not the actual price paid. Ours was first advertised for way more than we paid for it.

In the UK Mouseprice shows actual land registry prices paid. That would be at least useful, but to my knowledge sales aren't public in Kanton Zug (or my neighbours wouldn't have been so keen on asking us what we paid).

Is that just me or is it nobody else's business what I decide to be willing to pay for in a private transaction? Of course it should not be public.

I agree that this information should be private. This was private in the UK then once day they started making the land registry records public for many years in the past.

Not all information is there. I have checked and our house is not on there.

Re: How much was a property sold for?

in which area you are looking to buy?

i can tell that the market is very slow for the last 5 months but this doesnt reflect on the selling prices because there arent many properties for sale

also be aware of the fact that many appartments that you dont see more in the ads doesnt mean necesserily that they are sold
many times they decide to live there afrer all or they rent them

Our house which we bought in 2007 also wasn't listed. I wonder where they get the info from. I'm guessing just the ads from sites like Homegate(?). Our house wasn't listed on Homegate.

I agree with your last sentence. But the bank often has a good idea what the property is worth. In fact, if you get in touch with the bank that holds the mortgage you'll probably find out what the owner paid for it, assuming they didn't pay over the odds in cash. That certainly can & does happen.
