Good! Keep in mind it tripped for a reason- usually in a kitchen you might have too many high wattage things going at once, but if it trips again and you haven't got the kettle and microwave going call someone.
I used to have that problem, then I made a cable to plug into the unused three-phase socket under the sink (probably for a dish-washer), and got myself three more 16A circuits! No more tripped breakers.

Re: Landlord Won't Come Till Tomorrow for Electricity Outage in Kitchen

Glad you got it sorted so easily. It can be confusing here.
A visiting (i.e non resident...definitely non continental) electrician friend of mine nearly blew a fuse of his own when I showed him our fusebox-disguised as a mirror in the toilet.
Our landlord had told us about it though, luckily! We would never have guessed otherwise...

I think the easiest way to find out is by asking a neighbour.

German translation for "Where is the fuse box?"
Können Sie mir sagen, wo sich der Sicherungskasten befindet?

If they ask you why, tell them you have no power in the kitchen.
German: Ich habe keinen Strom mehr in der Küche.
And the most important one for Swiss neighbours:

"Können Sie bitte mal dieses Kabel anfassen und mir sagen, ob es unter Strom steht?"

Could you touch this wire and tell me weather it is a live one?

Yeah, but it still works on some guys...

eg: "ohhh officer, was I speeding?"

or: "oh.. so thats how you put chains on the car" (no need to get down and dirty when someone else is willing to "help"..)

The thing is if a guy gets down and dirty putting chains on the car he is at least at some level hoping you will also get down and dirty

Haha!! If that's what I was then I would have just relied on my husband & not gone out there and figured it out myself. (Of course with your assistance!) I'm resourceful, not a helpless woman. Believe me!

Due to your advice I went looking about and found a breaker box in a common area & flipped the one that looked off & it worked.

YAY!!
Don't forget to get in touch with your landlord to let him know it's fixed. Otherwise he might send an electrician (and their apprentice!) and you'll get the call out charge.
