Painting and decorating when leaving an apartment

I have seen plenty of threads regarding hiring professional cleaners when you leave an apartment but what about painting. Is it the norm to have the apartment professionally painted to cover general wear and tear or will landlords allow some flexibility and be content with the tenants putting on a lick of paint?

Have a look in the Sticky at the top of this sub-forum. There is a thread in there with several sites with basic info about renting in Switzerland. You're pretty sure to find the information you need in there.
