Hi All,

I'm moving at the end of the month and I'm having trouble to find where to buy some boxes or cartons.

Could anyone advise me of somewhere I can buy them? it would be greatly appreciated. I am based in Zurich.

I tried looking for umzugskartons but then I get lost in the german - I'm not that high a level yet.

Jumbo and Migros Do-It normally have them in two sizes. I think that both have them on special at the moment in multipacks (3 I think).

Jumbo also has some other packing materials (paper, bubble wrap, moving blankets etc.) that can be quite useful.

You can try ask the post office. I know they have many services for the moving, and they might also offer empty boxes. As an alternative, you can ask some supermarket, usually they have many spare ones. Good luck!

I have not seen it mentioned yet, but the electricity company BKW(1to1Energy) gives you free boxes when you move. Just let them know a week in advance that you are moving and need boxes, then you can pick them up. I think I got about 10/12 for free and then for anymore you need they charge you really nothing.
