| | Heads up for new apartments available in 8152 Glattpark
First off, I am in no way affiliated with the rental company, I just know about these because I am moving to that area myself and think it's a great place that combines living almost in Zurich (you are off by 600 metres, to be exact) and having the comforts of the countryside at the same time. They are basically in the process of building a new "little town" from scratch, so everything is shiny and new, with some great playgrounds and an artificial lake next to a park. Health insurance (1257.- francs less per year for me, for example) and tax is cheaper too... Yes, there are planes up above, but the houses are built to Minergie standard with triple glazing and I hardly noticed any noise when I was inside the building.
Well anyway, I just thought I'd let you know because a lot of people seem to be desperately looking for places and I'm afraid you will have to be very lucky to find one if you keep totally focussed on that magic "Zurich" postcode. It's what I did for a while and it just silly what's going on. Apartments for rent - website sadly in German but if you have any questions that are not real estate agent territory, feel free to ask. The apartments are available from 1. August and 1. September, depending on which house you pick (it says so in the top right hand corner). The agency renting them out is staffed with really nice people, I dealt with them a few times and they were very helpful.

Ok, so someone asked me what a "Reduit" is (some of the apartments have one) - it's a storage space that could, for example, be used as a larder or to quickly hide away the kids' mess when you have unexpected guests arriving. | The following 2 users would like to thank Kittster for this useful post: | |

Me again - about 40% of the places are now reserved, with only two 4.5 room places left, the rest are smaller ones.

Don't suppose there are any Attika apartments left?

Do they speak English at all? I will be arriving end of April, but afraid it might be too late.

I think kittster is just letting people know that apartments are available in a new up and coming (we hope) area, helping her fellow forumers. no harm in that is there? I found the posts helpful anyway as I am actively searching for a new place
A bit disappointing though that they didn't get back to you, I am finding the same with other new build areas

The "DG" apartments are the attika ones, there are some left, at a pretty steep price. But they are beautiful.
Georgi, I'm sorry to hear they haven't replied, when did you write to them? It can take up to two days to get a response but that is the longest I've ever had to wait, usually the response was within a few hours.
