Soon to be in Zurich, Seeking some local knowledge.

Hi There,

I’m searching for some local knowledge, having just accepted a job in Zurich that was totally out the blue. I was supposed to be moving home to England after 4 years in Sydney.

A few questions I have are:-

*Are there any areas to avoid living?

*What’s a sensible rental price for a Studio Apartment?

*How easy is it to get by in English?

Also is anyone interested in going for a beer/game of pool, or something abit more active. Keen on most things inc Running, Cycling, Swimming, Hiking, Golf,Climbing (Still a beginner and only been on the indoor walls).

Any advice will be much appreciated.

Thanks

Chris

Re: Soon to be in Zurich, Seeking some local knowledge.

Hi Chris,
Switzerland is very safe. Areas to avoid have more to do with
price than safety.

English is the common business language so almost everyone
speaks English in Zürich.

Good luck!

Welcome to the Forum Chris...

There is a keen Pool following here, socially and league-wise. Search the Forum for "Pool" and the relevant threads will be shown.

Re: Soon to be in Zurich, Seeking some local knowledge.

You could do worse than start at the beginning in Introductions and read this Thread - Please read this Information before posting your Thread particularly this bit - Posting your introduction - please read first!

Information on here is sorted into sections to make it easier to find (please, Forum Veterans, no laughing). Your asking several questions on several subjects in Housing in General gives a Thread with a muddle of answers which may be useful to you but is no good to anyone else in the future searching for similar things.

Have a look under the various 'headings', especially the Stickies at the top of each Sub-Forum; you'll find enough reading matter to keep you out of mischief for the rest of the week.

Welcome to the Forum.
