Moving out- cleaner/handy man advice for Lausanne?

I've tried searching for forums and have not (to the best of my knowledge) seen a thread which answers my questions.

I'm a student set to graduate this may and we've found new tenants (friends of ours) to take over our apartment. We've agreed that we will leave some major furniture behind as they are also students.

I'm mainly concerned with the issue of cleaning the apartment? One of the rooms comes in carpeting. Does anyone have any advice good english speakers who can clean carpets? We also think we will need to hire a handyman to come and fix certain things, such as faucets and taps that have come slightly loose through our stay.

I'm a little bit nervous about it as we (three girls) will be moving out and handling the procedures for the first time.

Any advice would be welcomed!

Hi,

It is quite usual when somebody takes over your lease (rather than you handing in back to la gereance) that they sign a document where they take it as it is, so any defects are known by the new tenant and not due to be fixed by la gereance.

Can you not negotiate this terms with your friends? Specially if you live furniture behind. Their standards for sure will be lower than swiss ones and both parties can benefit.

Just an idea...
