Re: Bats, whats the low down?

Bats are protected in Switzerland.

There are two links (in german) on this thread that might help.

Removing bat(s) from between shutters and windows?

Back home, the more bats you see, the less mosquitos you have to deal with.

Why? What exactly do you want to do to them?

LOL nothing. bur we noticed a lot of bats flying round the house at the weekend, we've had a good look round the attic and can't see any, or any evidence of any, just wondering.

Re: Bats, whats the low down?

They wont be in the attic thats for sure. They generally settle in outbuildings and so forth with easy access. Look for mice like droppings on the floor of an outbuilding and you will find them. If theyre not in the house leave them as they are good at clearing mosquitos etc, they only fly at night or late evening and they never attack humans etc, so the only nuisance factor is their mess.

What, no bats in the attic? Wonder where that saying came from then ...

Re: Bats, whats the low down?

They also like the eaves of your house or the porch over your front door as a tempory residence, and that way they can use you for target practice and as a free bathroom cleaning person (unless you like your doorstep that way for a few months). Then they disappear and that is the end... until their next seasonal visit.
No problem.

Re: Bats, whats the low down?

If they are not a problem leave well alone and enjoy watching their antics. If you have a 'bat' problem, there are many Societies that will advise. Ask the Commune or the Biology department at your nearest University.
