Re: Average rent in Zurich Chf 2500 for decent flats?

My bf found an apartment for chf 940 /month. In Albisrieden, 3.5 rooms, ground floor, nice. The building is a GBL one.
It depends what you want or what you need. But in these times, it is not about what you want anymore...it is about what you can get get to have a decent life. If someone can afford a place over chf 2500 then good for him/her. The apartment my bf lives at the moment is big and it costs chf 2120/month: 4.5 rooms, garden, basement, nice neighbours and quiet. In Albisrieden. 15 mins from the center of Zurich.

I mean any area 0 to 20-30 minutes from center.
Altstetten. Cheap as chips, 5 minutes from HB on the train.

HTH.

This is now the second time somebody mentions Altstetten. I lived there four years in a shiny new 3.5 room flat... which cost 2500 a month.

A good place with a low image... but the prices are nowhere near as low as the common Zürcher remembers from way back.

P.S: I currently spend 3500 on my rent but save so much on taxes in SZ that I basically rent for free compared to Zurich city.... and my flat is still available.
