Getting HELP - kicked out of our sublet apartment - rights?

My wife and I arranged to sub-let an apartment for our first 2 months in Switzerland, to give us some time to get organised. This was, in effect, to take over for the last 2 months of someones rental agreement.

However this evening, around 3 weeks in, we received an email from the person we are subletting from, telling us that, due to some apparent 'misunderstanding', the real-estate company has rented out our apartment to another couple, starting several weeks before we were supposed to leave. Therefore, he says that he is 'sorry', but we have to leave. We have already paid for the entire period.

We have numerous emails that were exchanged prior to moving into the apartment, clearly stating the start and finish dates, as well as other conditions of rental.

I am not sure how, or even if we can re-enforce the sublet agreement. What rights do we have in this regard?

(We are in Vaud.)

Any advice you can offer would be really appreciated!
