Buying apartment in Lausanne

Hello,

I was thinking to buy an appartment later this year in Lausanne.

I saw that they are about to refresh the area close to Flon (towards Rue de Geneve) where at the moment is full of prostitutes on the rouad in the evening.

I heard they plan to build a Tram line there by 2016.
A couple of questions:

1) is this tram line confirmed?
2) what do you think about this Rue De Geneve? It is around 6,000/m2 CHF at the moment but likely to go up ?

3) where can i find information about next years transport development in Lausanne overall? especially Metro/new operas in general? Any URLs?

3) which areas in LSN are supposed to go up in price? I see that Mon Repos is already at 10,000 CHF / m2...

i dont see any place avaialble to sell in Lausanne, at all... is it possible??? Will it change or i can forget it?

Hi I saw that new development on Rue de geneve as well. I think the price /m2 is very cheap for central lausanne. The area is very popular however does not have a good reputation(red light district) ; the road above attracts a big Arabic/indian/African population, which is not a positive point for local standard when it comes to sell . I would buy for invest only.

people do not put their prop on the market many times. they sell privatly , or amongst the insiders. best bet is for an agent as they are the insiders often. In less then a month I have my license and could then help you

1) Yes, the tram line between is confirmed.
2) There will be major developments in this area in the near future with a lot of new buildings, shops etc so the prices will probably go up
3) You can find informations on the TL website (www.t-l.ch) and here http://www.lausanne-morges.ch/axes-forts/. A new metro line (M3) will probably be built but not in this area.
4) Prices even the crappiest areas in Lausanne are going up...

There will be a lot of new flats/houses on the market in the coming months/years with huge projects everywhere in the city and its suburbs but there are also a lot a new people coming to the city so you have to keep looking.

Regarding the area you mentionned you must know that the city council is willing to move the hookers to another neighbourhood after the area is rebuild (a bit like the Flon at the time).
