Re: Advice on Moving Companies from UK

We've decided to drive ourselves using sixt van hire. It's half the price. Plus we can take care of our own things.

Re: Advice on Moving Companies from UK

Well good luck with the move. Just make sure though you know what paperwork you will need for customs. I believe you will have to have completed a customs form 18.44 - and I needed to provide the moving company with a copy of my passport, rental agreement and job contract (as I did not yet have my foreigners ID/Auslaendersausweis). Hopefully someone else on EF who has done the move themselves too can advise better.

Re: Advice on Moving Companies from UK

We have just moved from London to Rolle. The moving company we used was France Removals. I will definitely recommend them to anyone moving from England to Switzerland. It was very efficient next day delivery. We did most of the packing ourselves. The removal guys packed only the big stuff like sofa, bed and table. Everything arrived in safe and sound condition. The price for the service was reasonable. The only concern was the size of the track. At the beginning I thought that we won't be able to fit our stuff in the track as it seemed to be on a small side, but they managed to fit everything in. So, be cautious and make sure that you request a big enough truck.
