Bin Liners

Hi all,

Quick question regarding bin liners in Zug. I know I can't just use any kind of bin liner for my peddle bin in the kitchen and need to obtain "special" bin liners and they vary from Kanton to Kanton (or so I'm led to believe), but here's my question.

My boss calls them "Zugersacks", the girl dealing with my relocation called them "Gebuhrensacke" tax bags and this evening shopping in Lidl I saw some bin bags called "Kehrichtsacke mit Zug...." I think is was something like "Zugertie" or something similar.

Are all these, different names for the similar thing and can I buy the Kehrichtsacke for my bins?

Thanks.

Alex.

Re: Bin Liners

Different names for the same thing. The price is what will reveal the truth, probably 20+francs and never 2 francs like ordinary liners. You usually have to ask for them at the checkout or information desks, treated like goldust...

Re: Bin Liners

Yes - they are only available behind the counter. CHF 29 for 10x 35L bags or there is a 17L version for less, but they don't fit my full kitchen bag inside when it is full. In Zug they are grey with red writing.

Re: Bin Liners

Hi Alex, yes all the shops will sell the official bags. Most official bags are kept behind the till or counter as obviously they are a lot more expensive than the normal black bin bags. When you get to the till just ask Zuger abfall sack. They come in 17, 35, and bigger Lt. I use small normal black bags in my bin in the apartment, don't put any food stuff in it (there is a bin provided for green waste) then keep my 35 LT bag in the cellar and fill it up with the small ones.
Hope this helps.

Re: Bin Liners

Head to the nearest petrol station, Landi or Post Office. That's what I do
