Hi guys,

Asking for help on behalf of my husband, TractorBoy, for a reasonably priced B&B, somewhere near Allschwil (Basel) or across the border in France. He will be 'kicked' out of his temp apartment due to the Basel Arts (or something like that-it's been booked in advance) and will need somewhere to stay for that week until he can move back in to that apartment or we find our permanent housing by then.

I'm sure someone has been there so I'll appreciate any help.

We were in a B&B last week when we moved out of our apartment in Basel and made the hand over.

The lady is absolutely lovely. She is Swiss and her husband is British. They are very sweet and warm people, we have a great time there! The room is very nice and you have acces direct to the garden.

There is a nice hostel near the station in Basel, plus the youth hostel is pretty good.

Thanks but the problem is still that he's looking for a place while the rest of the world have booked theirs like 6-8 months ago for the Basel Arts, way before he knew he got a job in Basel.

So if any of you know a more obscure place across the border (where other tourist from the festival are not likely to go without a car) then I'll be chuffed for him. Thanks again!!
