Private apartments

Hi all

I hope that some good EF could give me some sites or addresses where I can find private apartments and not estate agents. I searched Homegate and similar sites but I want to see other alternatives, and I think trying directly with owners is often better and has more advantages. Sorry if this thread has already been posted but in my research I didn't found any similar.

Thanks in advance and have nice day!

Re: Private apartments

I would not go anywhere near craigslist, it's full of scams. There are a few real ads, but just be careful.

Yes, definitely one of the worst sites to find a real ads. They should be more creative making fake ads.

Ok, easy answer: Real estate is a tricky market in Switzerland. Tax wise does it really hurt to own something privately... I don't want to go into details, but the bottom line is: By far the most flats on the market are not owned by private individuals, but institutional investors. Very many for example by the various pension funds. They use companies that manage the property for them. Even if you have a really rich private owner (like the family that apparently owns the house I live in): He would not rent it out privately, but rather establish a company on his name who does so.

P.S: What are you looking for? (Have a look at my signature below... wink wink.)

Re: Private apartments

just for my info, why not with an agent?
makes things easier for you and it is the seller paying them anyways.....

im soon to be an agent and just wondering why people would rather not use one

Re: Private apartments

I have no preference, but current flat is rented privately. The experience so far is positive. Flat is cheaper (no agents fee to pass on) LL is responsive (I guess the only property they have to 'manage').
