Guest Bed - Cheap Option required!

Hi all - we get the keys to our place on Friday, but our furniture won't come until Tues / Wed. We'd like to move in and basically just need a bed to use for a few days. Can anyone help with this?

1) Cheap beds - if we go out and buy one (a double bed) is IKEA the cheapest you'll get or are there other options? If so, where (near Zurich)

2) Inflatable - we were thinking of just buying a double inflatable mattress. The problem is, we have one of these already on the way to us from home we just forgot to leave it out of the packing! Peopel have said Interdiscount is the sort of place to try for this and 50 CHF might be do-able

Any other options and pointers on where to get either of these be great!

Thanks
Graham

Interdiscount have large size ones for 100 CHF. Seems a bit of a waste though for 2 days, when we have one on the way !

Re: Guest Bed - Cheap Option required!

PS - we don't even need a spare bed, just a spare mattress

Shame we live too far to help. Buy an inflatable and then sell it on when you don't need it anymore.

Ikea is defo cheep and easy if you need to buy. I would however look on the free stuff section here first, if not in the classified, you can most likely find someone moving out and either put it in a spare room later or pass it on again...

Probably going out on a 48hour bender would be more fun!

Don't forget some form of lighting. Chances are there'll be none when you get there.

Re: Guest Bed - Cheap Option required!

have a look for 'giang' on the forum - she had a really good inflatable bed for sale, pickup in Zurich...

Or find out where your local brockenhaus is - they will probably deliver for a fee, same as Ikea...

Re: Guest Bed - Cheap Option required!

Try and find your local Lipo store. We bought an air bed in there on Saturday for 20chf, they also had cheaper one's for 15chf. Then you can store them away for future guest's!!
