Can anyone give any advice about holding a Richtfest for the builders of our house.
I am unsure as to what is expected, aside from a healthy load of beer & wine. Should it be an apero type of thing or a full on meal?

Easiest thing is to get Migros Party Service to deliver a cold buffet including a spread of meat, cheese and bread with some green stuff for decoration. I did this about 15 years ago and mine took the same route as other Richtfest that I've heard about, insofar that the manual labor guys get shit-faced on beer and the shirt wearers discuss politics and drink white wine. It's a necessary evil associated with building in Switzerland, just as pointless as sticking a pine tree on the roof when the tiling is done. Traditions rule, however pointless.
