Renting in Geneva, where to live if availability no limitation
I am moving to Geneva in the next few months and have a few questions about where to live, that is if I can find an apartment... Luckily, my company is providing corporate housing for 2 months while I look with the assistance of relocation specialists. The office is in Grand Saconnex. I will not have a car but a trusty bicycle, so proximity to work is a consideration but not essential. I have seen apartments in ONU, Gare, Eaux-Vives, and Plainpalais on websites like homegate.ch. I'd prefer Eaux-Vives but i don't know if my housing budget (max of 2,400) would be sufficient for a minimum 55 m^2 apt. I've seen a few but nothing compelling. My questions are 1) what are the vibes / characteristics of the different districts, 2) Left bank vs. Right bank and 3) would Plainpalais be the district for hip, vibrant, and young?
As for me, I am late 20s. A foodie. Prefer quality over quantity of liquor.
Thanks in advance, hopefully I was pedantic enough to elicit friendly responses
