House Flooded: Insurance question

We have just had an extremely heavy rainfall in Versoix, GE, and our rented house was flooded. Fortunately the Fire department have been helping vacuuming up the water in our basement.
The damage has not been too great, just some carpeting and possible water damage to furniture. I managed to save all the music gear!!
A question: Would the owner's insurance policy cover the damage re. carpeting?

Re: House Flooded: Insurance question

read the contract in regards to that. I am certain it is in there. or just call the landlord.

id also hire one of those water humidity dryers asap as mold will form quickly

Re: House Flooded: Insurance question

The owner's insurance will not cover damage to your property. You will need to claim off your insurance if the carpets and furniture belong to you.
