I have managed to find a 2 bed flat in Zurich but as I have never been there/have no clue about rent I would be really grateful if you can give me any advice.

The flat is advertised as fully furnished, and rent is 1700 chf a month and 1600chf deposit.
I'm assuming it's a sublet as it was on Ron's Orp.
Do you think this is reasonable for somewhere on Weinbergstrasse?

I have yet to speak to the poster regarding moving in etc. so it could well turn out to be another Western Union scam.

I have read up about things to expect from rental agencies but don't really know how to approach a sublet.

Is this really 2 bedrooms or does it say 2 rooms which then means it's a one bedroom. Two-bedroom furnished flats in Zurich are usually more than that and furnished is hard to find generally. Be careful, there are scams and in my search I came across two out or twenty, so for info about 10% of ads ESP those for expats are scams.
For the record I have encountered ad scams just this summer looking for a flat, kittens and a used car. And they used the same story for the latter two (!) ie the car/the kittens used to belong to my deceased wife/mother and I can't stand to look at them anymore hence why i am selling for cheap.
I'm still shocked by how much people will play on emotions to make a little money. If the return email is long and detailed and in imperfect English with bad punctuation, probably a scam.
