Finding apartment

Hello,

I'm thinking to move to Swiss from US, I wonder would it be possible to lease apartment if you do not have Swiss permit/visa?

Thanks

Re: Finding apartment

I have no idea what the legal situation is, however, in practice your chances of finding someone to lease you an apartment are about Zero.

Re: Finding apartment

do you think it's possible to live more than 3 months in the country without a permit?

So getting a lease on a place longer than that duration will be hard.

I don't know, anymore, what possibilities are! I just want to move, therefore I
ask question!

Re: Finding apartment

If you have a job, some landlords will assume you are here legally and won't ask for more info.

If you don't have a job, they will wonder how you are going to pay and will not likely rent to you.

That said, during my studies I had no fixed job or income and still was rented a small apartment. It was a lot of stress paying the rent each month by doing odd jobs, singing here and there and having a student or two. But it was worth it to have my own place.

Re: Finding apartment

So, what you are saying is that is possible rent one without having visa. In
theory, at least!

Thanks!
