Subletting Flat as a Foreigner

Hi all

Are B permit holders allowed to sublet their apartments with furniture to a third party? As far as I heard from the real estate agency, it is totally okay for them. But are there any legal restrictions for foreigners?

Here is all the legal information you need. You can use Google to translate the bits you don't understand. "When the tenant becomes the landlord"

Most office supply shops will sell you a blank legal rental contract, cost about SFr 7 to SFr 15

Re: Subletting Flat as a Foreigner

Thanks. One question specific to my situation: our three year contract expires in March 2012, I want to sub-let from November 2011 for two years. Is this an explicit no-way, or perhaps the 'normal' solution is to request an extension before offering/requesting a sub-lease..?

From the above link:
It is important to note that the sublease can never take longer than the main lease. As a result, the sublease may be extended only for a maximum duration of the main lease.

Exactly

Please remember that as the first tenant you are responsible for the actions of the sub tenant, including paying the rent!

Yes, you can. I did it - sublet my apartment for 6 mths. As long as the agency is happy with the sublet tenant (on paper). You need to have a sub-let contract in place though.
