I’m brand new on this forum and soon brand new in Switzerland! I will move to Lucerne and doing my best finding a flat. I will look at one in a few weeks, but I don’t know if I can afford it. My salary will be 4500CHF and the rent on the flat I will look at is 890CHF.
What do you think a good max. rent for me is? I don’t have a clue how much:
A suitable flat insurance will cost?
Iis it standard in Switzerland that the flat got a freezer, refrigerator (or do I have to buy that on my own?)
How about electricity and warm water,what do you think I will need to pay for that every month?
What do you think my approx. total monthly cost with everything included will be if the rent is 890CHF?
I’m shore I will figure out more questions, but lets start with these!

As long as your rent < 25% of your salary, you should be good.

House insurance: 20 - 40 CHF/month (check on comparis.ch).

Kitchen is usually fully equipped (so there should be a fridge).

Water and heating are usually in "Nebenkosten" -- check if that 890 includes nebenkosten or not.

Electricity: you pay yourself -- usually about 10 - 20 CHF/month
