housing insurance

hello
can any body give me an suggestions for housing insurance in zurich?
which is the best housing insurance here?

I guess because everyone's living conditions are different there's no set answer (for what it's worth, I use Zurich Insurance and they are fine for us).

You could plug all your details into www.comparis.ch, a comparison website, and see what fits with your situation.

I was wondering if this is mandatory. Can the landlord force you to have one?

I don't think it's mandatory but it's definitely recommended. The landlord will have his own insurance for the building but it won't cover your contents against theft or breakage.

Highly recommended to an housing isurance. I have axa-winterthur . It was very convinient to have one. try calling thier hotline : 0800 809 809. Discussion takes place on the phone or their representative visit your place and they send you the contract which you have to sign and sent it back. They also send you the policy in English which is easier to understand.
