Is there a deadline for statement of charges

The question is in the title really. I moved into my apartment in January 2010 and haven't received any statement of charges to pay extra or get a refund or not pay anything yet.

I asked in August 2010 and the agency said I would get a statement of charges for the whole of 2010 in June 2011.

Whenever I email asking the agency they just ignore my emails now.

So is there a legal date by which time the landlord of agency has to inform a tenant of their statement of charges?

5 Years, after that you don't have to pay.

I am not sure if this helps but my adjustment usually comes in the first quarter in the year following. So for example for 2010 my adjustment was sometime around February 2011. Fortunately and as an aside, each year I have gotten a refund and not had to pay additionally. That all said I dont know if these are the rules or what the legal requirements are - its just what my agency does. Unfortunate they do not contact you to explain - I'd just keep trying to contact them just to get an understanding of how they operate. And or can you ask one of your neighbours? We found our neighbours often have some useful information which we were not informed about!

If they want to be paid then they must demand within 5 years, there is no legal requirement to seek payment.

Re: Is there a deadline for statement of charges

Just to resurrect this oldish thread. If there is no difference to be paid by either party do agencies usually just not send a statement or are they legally obliged to sent a statement?
