Co-rental advice needed

Hi all,

I have a friend, also living in Switzerland, through his work he is traveling a lot and hardly at home. Throughout the year he spends around two weeks at home, seriously. In the past two years he is practically throwing money out the window with his apartment rental.

One easy solution could be that he just "moves in" to me. But as I'm also renting my apartment, I'm not sure if he is allowed to do that. Would I need to contact my landlord to get an approval, or could he just register at my place? Does anyone know if there are any restrictions on such arrangements?

Thanks in advance for the advice.

PS: Apologies if this has been already answered in another thread. With a quick search I didn't get any hits...

Re: Co-rental advice needed

You definitely need to contact and agree the terms and conditions for this sharing and obviously need to get registration done. This varies from case to case and depends on the agency or der vermieter on how flexible they are...
