| | Built-in Fridge broken?
The fridge has been off for a while and when I turned it back on, the freezer compartment cooled down fine, but the main fridge bit doesn't seem to work.
Anyone know where I can get a replacement from. I searched for the Fridge model, but this model isn't made any more. I'm not sure how standardised the dimensions are but the fridge is approx 122 high and 56cm wide.
Or better still, does anyone know if this can be cheaply fixed?

My parents had the fridge replaced without a problem. They didn`t do it themselves though because the piece of plastic that covers the door had to be fit to the new fridge. I`d look for second hand fridges, ricardo or an advert in the local supermarket.
Cheap and fixing? I`m not sure but is there still warranty on it?

sadly no warranty, i saw that the fridge was already 10 years old!
OK. Bought a fridge. Found it first in Switzerland, they said it would take 15-30 days to deliver and will cost 1,500 chfs
Same fridge from a german supplier, delivery in 5 days and costs 600 chfs.

| | | | | We had the same symptoms (but not necessarily the same cause). Ours was a Miele. Needed a new thermostat for the fridge part. 200CHF. Here's the thread |

Probably too late but should be easily fixed as the technology behind it is well understood and very basic and with it being 10 years old there is probably no complicated parts.
Things that go wrong in a fridge:
1. Thermostat
2. Gas cylinder that might need replacing or refilled.
Not an expert and don't ask me how I know this |

The fridge is actually 55cm wide (well 54.6cm to be Swiss about it).
It is the swiss standard kitchen unit size don't you know!

Swiss standard width for kitchen appliances is just under 55 cm (unless your kitchen is from Germany or from IKEA), German standard is 60 cm. That's quite an annoying thing to realise when you try to fit the new fridge.

new fridge arrived. i took out the old one. has a single compressor, so guess it is a thermostat problem or low freon problem.
anyone fitted an in-built fridge before? |

Sorry- never tried.
I know it is a bit late, but one of my older fridges had a broken light bulb - this was part of the circuit and the fridge (but not the freezer) didn't work if the bulb was bust.
In theory, it should slot straight in - good luck.

Make sure it's on 0 (or off), then plug it in. Then lift into place and screw the metal plates into the wood. Then leave it for 24 hours, then switch it on. Read the installation manual first as the procedure may vary.
