how to pay the removal company?

Hi Forum,

I've moved to Zurich recently. Everything seems about fine so far, except for some little problems. For example my furniture was transported here by an international removal company about a month ago. They had done an excellent job, except for one tiny little thing: they didn't tell me how to pay for their service. (what?!)

I've sent them an e-mail asking about this, but no response so far. (Maybe it was a bit unclear, since this new concept of not being charged for a service baffled me.)

So here is my question: is this a normal thing and should I wait patiently for a couple of more weeks? I guess, after a while they would surely find me, but I'd like to get over with this and forget about them... Or should I just share the name of the company with you and the joy of free furniture transportation?

S.

They know where you live. Believe me, the invoice will find its way to you. I have no doubt about it.

Re: how to pay the removal company?

Depending on the billing currency, the company might be sitting on the invoice deliberately, in the hope that exchange rates move in their favour...

...so it might actually be in your interest to pay promptly

Re: how to pay the removal company?

send them a letter with new terms and conditions stating that if they do not provide billing details by 27 October, that the agreed price will be reduced by 50%

Check if the removal company itself has not not been removed from business.

Re: how to pay the removal company?

Well, thanks: my original plan was to start worrying now, but instead, I'll wait 2-3 more weeks before starting that. :-)
