| Our rented house was not meant to be on the sales market, but now, much to my surprise and dismay, it is!!
If a landlord decides to put a house on the market, is the tenant required to allow agents and prospective buyers inside? If so, how often? Any insights?
Thank you! | |

Sorry to hear about your situation. Most leases clearly state under which circumstances the landlord and/or his agents have the right to visit the property. Most often this is to deal with repairs or maintenance. Also, if a tenant gives notice to move, there is an obligation to allow viewings.
A property for sale is, of course, a completely different of circumstances which is why I recommend that you join the Tenant's Association (Mieterverband), make an appointment to discuss your situation with someone, bring your lease and any other correspondence with you.
