Garden/allotment wanted to rent

Hi everyone,

We live in a small village in Nidwalden and would like to rent a small plot of land somewhere nearby where we could recreate a small English garden just to sit out in and grow flower beds and a vegetable plot, perhaps have the odd barbeque.
We would only need about a quarter acre which was private (ie not in a built up area) and can afford about 500 CHF per month.
Does anyone have any clue if this is feasible and if so how I should go about making it a reality.

TIA

Look for allotments in your area. Often there will be a club house in the middle of the allotment area and folks should be able to tell you who's in charge. failing that look for a notice board somewhere (virtually all allotments have them) and you should be able to find some clue there as to who administrates the allotments.

I will ask around but I have never seen any allotment areas around here like I see on the train into Zurich or Luzern.
My wife is also wanting a something more private where we could do things like have an inflatable paddling pool for the kids ... You know the sorts of things you do in a suburban English garden.
