My boyfriend and I have been living in an appartment for a couple of months, and now its time to move. The problem is, we have no idea how to move our larger pieces of furniture. The main problems are the sofa, the bed, and the wardrobe. Its all from ikea and could be taken apart, but it was a real pain to put together and I don't feel like doing it all again. The wardrobe also doesn't want to be taken apart. Does any one know where/how we can get help moving it to the new appartment?

I think that most moving companies will also take the furniture apart and put it back together for you (both or either!) at a cost.

We used Debi Umzug for our recent move and they did a great job with the move and with taking apart and rebuilding the complicated Interio wardrobe.

A friend of mine that has the habit of moving flat on average once a year found it difficult of late to find friends that "have time" for move number XII..

What he does is get a few handyman from internet or paper ads, prepare all he can and move it with their help in one go.

He still moves all the high net worth stuff himself (for lack of transport insurance), but it really does cut down on his own physical effort. The personnel involved is not as highly skilled as a professional mover of course, but then you do not get such massive bills for a one-day-job either. Certainly an alternative to consider. It's not THAT difficult to move Ikea stuff after all.

there are a few people on the forum that do moving as professional and a few that will help out as a body for the day.. so might be worth a search on forum for it. (like in commerical and Jobs wanted section)
