MV booking lead time

As I finally going to pick up the key for my first apartment in CH, I read through all the horror stories and joined MV. However I only be informed last Friday that I can pick up the key this Friday, does anyone know what is the procedure in booking someone for the handover? I am in Zurich area and should I ask some Swiss colleague to call on my behalf to book or are they ok with English?

Many congrats.

When you say "book" do you mean to make the appointment for the handover on your behalf or to be present at the handover with you?

Looking ahead, I very much look forward to the house-warming!

yes i do mean, present at the handover, so we can tick off all the bits.. the estate agent actually speak quite good English (hooray!) but I understand the form is in German, so just want to be sure. Plus I like someone who has done it before and know what to look for etc.

as to house-trashingwarming. I will need to check WHEN the neighbours are moving in and may be do it BEFORE; knowing you lot!

I asked a very good Swiss friend of 'me' () to be present when I did mine even though the Lettings Agency representative spoke excellent English and I understand German pretty well. The form was in German in my case. Also, my friend had extensive experience of property rentals and lettings and knew exactly what to look out for.

Hey, regarding the house-warming, I'm a good girlie!

That is what I am after, someone who can speak German and know the rope. However do you know whether I should get my Swiss Colleague to call up MV to book someone for the handover or I should be ok to do it in English? Also it is only like 4 working days away...
