Do you still have a bidet?

I have a bidet in my bathroom but so many people I know in Switzerland have had theirs removed and had an extra toilet put in.
I am a bidet fan( maybe my french roots) and have always had one.
In the UK in the 80s/90s they were very popular, I don't know anyone who has one there
Do they put them in new builds in Switzerland? I am just curious.

Some more up-market new-builds have one of those self-cleaning loos. Others have a water jet that automatically comes out of the loo to do the same job as a bidet.

no idea...maybe his and hers, so the loo seat up/down argument is solved?

Re: Do you still have a bidet?

We do! Each bathrooms has one. Most of the apparts we visited here had it. I love it too. In Istanbul I had a water jet in the toilet itself.

I have only seen the water jet in the maternity hospitals -

No, still not clear.

I've never seen a bidet WITHOUT a toilet, so why have two toilets in the same room?

Meanwhile, I have replaced ours with a washer/dryer.

Much easier to wash socks in a washer/dryer than a bidet. And I talk from experience!

Re: Do you still have a bidet?

Ok - My toilet is like a toilet with the big hole at the bottom to get rid of waste.

My bidet is lower than the toilet - still has the white bowl but not a large hole in the bottom. It has a like shower attachment fixed to 2 taps at the front and in the middle a push down plug like you get in the sink where you wash your hands. So you can sit on the bidet, turn the taps on and shower your bits n bobs.

hmm, so you have the loo in a separate room. Then you have to go into the bathroom to use the bidet? ....sounds messy! no wonder people prefer to take out the bidet and replace with a loo.

Does the toilet have an inspection shelf too?
