Housing Good Stores

I have been to COOP Bau + Hobby, looking for a Home Depot or Lowes type of store. In this occasion, I need a good 100+ bottle wine rack system. Does anyone know of other stores selling these types of items? And, by the way.... is is COOP, as in a two door Coupe OR is is CO-OP?

Re: Housing Good Stores

mrs and I bought a modular system at Ikea ... each set snaps together like lincoln logs ( if you have any clue what those were ) and our set up holds 42 bottles

as for "Coop" we say co - op ... but I think there was a whole thread just on that topic some time ago.

Re: Housing Good Stores

Closest thing to Home Depot = Hornbach or Jumbo
Coop = one syllable, rhymes with hillybilly pronunciation of "yup"

Re: Housing Good Stores

Coop: Pronounced "koop" or "koh-ahp"?

In the announcements in the store, it sounds like "Cope" to me - as in, I need to cope with these German announcements saying "Coop! Fur mich und dich"

Re: Housing Good Stores

I like Bauhaus better than Coop Bau and Hobby. They have a wider selection on everything, IMHO.

Re: Housing Good Stores

Look for the IKEA Gorm System. One single shelving unit can hold up to 114 bottles (14 racks with 8 bottles each). It is very sturdy, modular, and can grow with your wine cellar.

For a 228 bottle shelve you would need, 28 wine racks, 6 poles, and one OBSERVATÖR cross-brace (and optionally end caps).

Actually, that looks like a brilliant idea, probably better than mine
