Shower heads

Hi all- I was wondering if anyone knows if a shower head bought in the US would work in Switzerland?

Basically, I'm just unsure if the plumbing tubes are the same size as we use in the US so that the shower head can attach to the existing plumbing.

Any helpful info would be much appreciated!

Re: Shower heads

Off the cuff, I kinda want to say "no" - just because the threads from your US-bought shower head is likely threaded in imperial measure rather than metric.

Double check what yours is, if it is metric, it hopefully will be fine.

Re: Shower heads

We would you even want to bring a shower head with you, Switzerland does actually have shower heads on its showers and landlords don't expect you to supply your own!!!

Re: Shower heads

Not compatible I'm afraid, we use mountain spring water only which runs at 220 liters / sec as opposed to the Great Lakes 110 system.

Actually & strangely a lot of plumbing items in Switzerland are Imperial; quarter inch, half inch, three quarters.
Whereas in the UK they have moved to metric.....

Whether they will fit is one issue. But another one is the problem of hard water in Switzerland, the shower heads sold here are designed to cope with hard water, and can be cleaned easily.

I would advise against bringing any.

It's not a matter of whether it is supplied or not- the one we have, well, to put it plainly- sucks- it's no different than if you were to stand directly under the faucet

I asked for help on fitting a shower head- not to be questioned why I think I need one

thanks anyway, though!
