Subletting in Switzerland

Hi,

I live in Lausanne and am moving flats. From 30 April my agreement will have 8 months to run. I am looking to sublet my flat asap and was hoping for some advice / tips on what the best approach is.

Some example questions below,

1) where should I post on the internet for Lausanne
2) are there any legal issues I should be aware of
3) should I put in place a sublet agreement
4) do people ask for deposits when subletting

etc etc

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am in a hurry and am a bit clueless when it comes to this.

Thank you

Re: Subletting in Switzerland

I would suggest to start posting something here on the EF, and I would ask for a deposit always! About the legal issue I don't know.... Maybe somebody else in the forum will be more helpful....

Good luck

Re: Subletting in Switzerland

you should talk to your landlord.
i believe it is normally not allowed to sublet and you could run into trouble, depending on the landlord.
usually people (such ys you in this case) send the letter of (rental) termination to the next end of month and the renter (you) will then be responsible to bring a new renter (who will accept to rent to your conditions) or continue to pay until the end of official lease (definition is in your contract).

as far as looking for a replacement renter, also try to list under www.homegate.ch - the more neat pics you have teh better

good luck!
